Completing the NIH/PHS Conflict of Interest course is required for all PHS-funded investigators. A new NIH award cannot be set up in KC and SAP until investigators complete training, and key persons cannot be charged to an award until their COI training is completed.
Take the Training
The NIH/PHS Conflict of Interest course is available through CITI. It takes about 45-60 minutes to complete.
- Set Up Your Account
- Take CITI Courses (select NIH/PHS Conflict of Interest (COI) on the Add a Course screen)
- Affiliate Previous CITI Training
Once you complete the training, no further action is needed. Your course record will be sent to MIT's training record module.
If you need technical assistance, please contact ra-help@mit.edu.
Renew Training
Once completed, your COI training is valid for 4 years. You do not need to complete COI training each time you submit an NIH proposal.
Investigators and Key Persons will be notified when their training is about to expire. To renew the training, complete the course again.
