Sponsor-Specific Guidance

Because of MIT’s commitment to academic integrity and objectivity in research, all Investigators must comply with the Institute’s Policy on Conflict of Interest in Research, regardless of sponsor. By following MIT policy and the procedures that support the policy, including online PI certification for proposals, PIs comply with the Conflict of Interest requirements of most sponsors.

The agencies of the Public Health Services (e.g. NIH, CDC, FDA, AHRQ), the National Science Foundation and some foundations have additional requirements that exceed the standards established in the MIT Policy.

Please see each agency listed in this section for additional information.

If you identify a proposal-specific requirement in a solicitation and are unsure if additional steps are needed, please contact the Conflict of Interest Officer or your Contract Administrator for guidance.
